Reports that the number of pensioners declaring personal bankruptcy is rising at a rapid rate might be wide of the mark according ot SAGA.
The group say that figures recently published that state the number of personal bankruptcies for the elderly has almost doubled over recent years are exaggerated.
A spokesperson for SAGA commented: "The figure is an increase from an exceptionally low base. In our experience, people are actually quite canny with their money and have a strong dislike of getting into deb."
