Lack of disposable income leads to debt

People in the UK need to take on debt management plans because they simply don't have the disposable income to make the purchases they want.

That's the view of the latest findings from uSwitch that state that the amount of money people have left to spend on treating themselves after paying bills is at its lowest for some time.

Those finding themselves in serious debt and needing a plan to manage their finances is set to rise in 2007.

A spokesperson for uSwitch commented on the situation, stating, "Our pay cheques may be getting fatter, but the chunk that we have to hand over to pay taxes, bills and other living costs is growing even faster."
