Channel 4 news had an item on mis-selling IVAs yesterday.
The story appeared to be inspired by concern from banks that IVAs are being mis-sold.
The emphasis was on IVA companies mis-selling.
There is mis-selling of IVAs but the report failed to mention:
* the cause of so much debt in the first place, including easy and innapropriate credit from banks
* that as major creditors, banks have to agree to IVAs presented to them and can therefore refuse them
* the alternaive to an IVA willl likely be bankruptcy from which the banks are likely to get less
