IVA companies get slap on the wrist

People in debt and thinking about applying for an IVA have been warned not to believe the promises that they hear made by debt companies in television and radio advertisements.

Three IVA companies have recently been rapped by the Advertising Standards Authority for heavily exaggerating their services. Accuma, Money Debt and Credit and W3 Debt Solutions told customers they could write-off up to either 75% or 80% of their debts - a claim they can't yet substantiate.
