Many UK consumers facing serious financial problems, are turning to equity release in the hope of avoiding bankruptcy.
Figures from the MBBG (Major British Banking Groups) has shown that equity withdrawal was 10% higher by number and 9% higher by value in January 2007 than over the same period the previous year.
It's expected for this first time ever this year, that more people will turn to IVAs to service insolvency - in a bid to avoid bankruptcy.
