A leading financial expert has criticised some debt companies for not advising declaring bankruptcy to people who would benefit greatly from the procedure.
Ben Yearsley of Hargreaves Lansdown has slammed credit card and IVA adverts claiming that they explain all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks.
He commented: "Think of the long term consequences of what happens to your credit rating, will you be able to get a mortgage? What are the long term consequences? I think that should be explained more."
