Personal debt in the UK as a result of excessive Christmas spending is set to once again throw the IVA or Individual Voluntary Arrangement into the spotlight.
The controversial alternative to bankruptcy has managed to sneak away from the press over the back end of 2007 as the housing market took all the headlines.
However, Christmas spending is set to reach record levels this season with many consumers set to find themselves at financial breaking point come the new year, with the IVA set to be an attractive option for most.
